Pennsylvania Highlands Community College will be holding Commencement for the 16th Graduating Class on Thursday, May 19th at the Richland High School Performing Arts Center.  The Ceremony will begin at 7:00 pm.

This year’s Commencement Address will be given by Aaron Rovan, a Pennsylvania Highlands Community College alum and current active graduate student at Duquesne University.

In addition to awarding associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates at the Ceremony, Pennsylvania Highlands Community College will also present the Distinguished Graduate Award, which honors a student who has contributed his or her time and effort to Pennsylvania Highlands Community College and the community while maintaining a high level of academic performance.

The Beta Epsilon Omega Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society at Pennsylvania Highlands Community College is proud to announce their Spring 2011 Induction Class. With this class, Beta Epsilon Omega inducted sixty-one new members into the prestigious international honor society.

Phi Theta Kappa is the international honor society of the two-year college. The mission of Phi Theta Kappa is to recognize and encourage the academic achievement of two-year college students and provide opportunities for individual growth and development through participation in honors, leadership, service and fellowship programming.

Pennsylvania Highlands Community College is holding the Scholars Awards Ceremony on Saturday, May 14th, at the Richland High School Performing Arts Center. The Scholars Awards Ceremony will begin at 2:00 pm.

Awards will be given to those students that have achieved the highest academic level in their respective programs. Club awards will also be given to those students involved in their respective clubs. The club awards are based upon leadership and service.

Pennsylvania Highlands Community College will announce the nominations for the Distinguished Graduate Award at the Ceremony. The Distinguished Graduate honor is awarded to a student that has contributed their time and efforts to Pennsylvania Highlands Community College and their community while maintaining a high level of academic performance. The Distinguished Graduate Award will be presented at the Commencement of our 16th Graduating Class on May 19th, 2011.
